Each day in Nursery includes time for practising name writing, jolly jobs – focused activities, dough disco, whole group time, phonics and independent learning time both inside and outside.
We continue to work hard in Nursery on the children’s targets. The children have three targets:
RED – Literacy
BLUE – Maths
YELLOW – Personal or physical target
Please pop in to Nursery to see these displayed above the children’s coat pegs at any time.
Most of the children are beginning to write their names. We are teaching the children cursive letter formation ready for school. Please see the alphabet below to support any practise you might be doing at home.
|Monday||PE – please make sure pumps are in school. Please bring homework books.|
|Friday||Show and tell – the children can bring something from home to talk about at Brian time.|
Welcome to the Summer term
This half term our learning is based around the topic ‘Dinosaurs’
We have been listening and joining in with poems and stories around our theme as well as using dinosaurs as a stimulus in all 7 areas of learning. We have practised moving like dinosaurs, counted dinosaur eggs, made paper plate dinosaurs and dinosaur poo to show what a dinosaur might have eaten.
Each half term we teach the children to tell one or two stories off by heart using actions. Our Talk for writing story this half term is ‘The Little Green Dinosaur’ See the story map below.
